"January Jewels" is an upbeat choppy synth instrumental with perc heavy elements and its also accompanied by the perfect amount of swing with the kicks, snares, and hats. Although the beat doesn't have much layers or general elements, the effects (filters and such), tempo changes (slow intro, fast outro), and chops keep the listener engaged and the beat flowing and interesting. Also, the airy effects and lower quality on the sample really add to the song as a whole to really give it that vinyl and somewhat reminiscent feel to it.
